Well – what a fun little day this has been.
Thanks to me, the empire managed to take down the defences of St Geordia. Taurok says it was his clever strategy that won the fight – but I know better! They never would have gotten anywhere NEAR that castle if I hadn’t told them about the false wall.
It’s a pity that Daniar got away – I had my hands on her and all! Thanks to that little brat Erowin she got the drop on me. Well I’ll get my hands on her sooner or later – Daniar won’t be smiling so sweetly once I’ve taken everything away from her.
Then she’ll know what it’s like to be alone.
The Emperor is spoiling me rotten. Made me a whole chocolate cake in thanks for me taking down the wall. Been a while since I had proper chocolate cake – Daddy never made me any! Well, he’s rotting at the bottom of the dungeons now! I might pay him a visit later, just to rub it in his face! The Emperor’s very kind – not sure I liked the way he was looking at me. I mean I’m used to men drooling over such a perfect specimen like myself – but the breathing I heard behind his mask was just… creepy.
Can’t get used to the constant darkness here – they say once you adapt to Baalaria being in the dark all the time it isn’t so bad. But I’m not sure if it’s night or day – guess they don’t call it the Dark Lands for nothing.
Interesting thing happened at the end. I got talking to Lucia, the little impara slave of the Emperor. Turns out he’s trying to overthrow the Emperor and he wants Yours Truly to be the first Empress.
Empress. I like the sound of that!
In fact, the more I hear that word – the better it sounds.
Me. Empress of Baalaria.
But, I’ll play it safe for the moment. I’ll pretend that the Emperor has my loyalties. Keep him sweet. And then, when he least suspects it…
Actually, MAYBE I shouldn’t be writing this down. Wouldn’t want someone reading it and telling on me.
Ack… I’ll write it out tomorrow. Too much wine tonight. I could do with a good sleep.
Still, Empress does sound like a great title. That’ll wipe the smile of Daniar’s smug face!
