Diary entry, September 7, 3077.

Today they took Flynn. It happened in class and when the Medical Director and his Dream Drones came in. I knew who they were after. Because they saw him at the ritual and realized he was different. Flynn! I told you to leave. But you wouldn’t. Because you wanted to be there for me. And what good can I do for you now? They know that you’re aging faster than normal. And everyone here hates the old people. It will be so easy for them to hurt you, Flynn. So easy.

I wanted to stop that Medical Director and his soldiers. I stood up in my chair and demanded to know what you had done wrong. But they didn’t need a reason. They were Ministry and that was enough. And when they hit you with the ‘Mare, you were just gone, lost in some nightmare that I couldn’t see. I was so afraid for you. Afraid for what you saw. But that’s how it is under the Ministry. Break the rules and you’re punished. Tell the truth and you’re punished. What did Flynn see and what are they doing to him on the medical unit?

I have to get him out of there! But who would help me? I can’t talk to my parents. They’re Dream Makers and technically working for the Ministry. Da told me to stay away from Flynn anyway. But how can I when he’s the only good thing in this place?

Wait, I’ve got it! That man we saw this morning. Cashel. The man with the pony tail. Flynn thought he was underground. What if he is? Would he help me? He didn’t seem very interested in helping his buddy. Hmm. Maybe I could get something on him. Or tell him I’ll turn him in if he doesn’t help me. Yeah! That could work. If anyone can help me break into the medical unit, it’s the underground. Goodnight diary. It’s not a great plan, but its something.
